The Inner Circle
Just three years ago, the recommendation that mattered came from far away: an influencer with millions of followers, celebrity endorsement, massive reach. That's no longer the metric that reassures most. What reassures today is the closeness of the advice, not its reach.
A recommendation from a small account followed by 3,000 people, where every follower genuinely feels involved, often converts better than a story seen by two million indifferent viewers. The reason is simple: in a small circle, a recommendation feels like advice between peers. In a large one, it feels like an ad, however well disguised.
This shift forces brands to completely rethink their distribution logic. Working with ten micro-creators aligned on a specific niche can have more real impact than one big-budget, poorly targeted collaboration. It's not less work, it's different work: finer, slower to build, but more solid over time, because it rests on a genuine trust relationship rather than a one-off contract.
So What?
Before chasing the biggest possible audience, a brand should ask which circle is most loyal to it, however small. That's often where solid growth actually starts, not from massive, anonymous exposure.
